You can only stop the Welcome window from being shown when Photoshop starts if you are using a registered version of Photoshop CC2014 (not the trial version). Getting rid of the Welcome window in CC 2014 on startup Photoshop will not respond to external commands while these buttons are shown. You should NOT see the buttons below at the top of the screen - if you do click one button or the other to clear this state. This is easy to miss (particularly with C6 and newer with black backgrounds). If you have been recently using Photoshop, make sure that you haven't left it waiting for confirmation to complete a text edit, transform operation etc. When these messages are being displayed, generally Photoshop will ignore any commands coming from ProSelect and ProSelect will be left waiting for a response.
